Živilė Vaičiukynienė is a contemporary Lithuanian artist and painter based in Kaunas and Prienai, an officially recognized artist, a creator of original jewellery, and a curator of international art projects. She has actively participated in exhibitions and plein-air painting events since 2007. Her unique, one-of-a-kind works have found their way into private collections across Europe, including Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, the United Kingdom, and Spain, as well as the Republic of South Africa.
In the artist’s oil and acrylic paintings, contemporary interpretations of nature become metaphors that open up a space for reflecting on the human inner world. Mystery is at the heart of her artistic practice. She never reveals everything entirely, leaving room for the viewer’s intuition. This sense of freedom and lightness is enhanced by her fluid, expressive brushwork, poetic imagery, and subtle interplay of light.
The expressive, raised textures on her canvases lend the works a tactile depth, transforming the magical world she creates into more than a visual focal point within an interior: it becomes a space for tranquillity and contemplation. Her aim is not to reproduce visible reality, but to bring light, a quiet dialogue, and spiritual harmony into the surrounding environment.

About this artwork+
The painting "Gifted" by Živilė Vaičiukynienė offers a complex and layered visual experience with its abstract form and muted earthy colors. The ambiguity of the shapes and textures form what appears to be a contoured silhouette of a female figure gently cradling a child. There is an ethereal quality to this embrace, created through the subtle merging of tones and forms. The elements around them blend harmoniously, resembling aspects of nature such as rocks or riverbeds, enhancing the organic and serene feeling of the composition. Small, brighter specks distributed throughout the painting evoke a sense of otherworldly mystique, possibly alluding to the 'gifts' the title suggests—whether they be of love, connection, or protection. The overall mood is one of quiet tenderness enveloped in a dream-like atmosphere.
