"K. Česonytė’s paintings are variations on Expressionist painting: characterized by a trembling touch, energetic brushstrokes, and expressive paint textures with which she often seems to 'sculpt' figures, objects, and landscape elements. In terms of genre, the scope of her work is quite traditional. Landscapes predominate, though the artist has also painted a series of still lifes, numerous urban scenes, and the occasional stylized portrait. Yet, other aspects of K. Česonytė’s painting align her less with classical modernist art and more with the imagery of the contemporary, media-saturated world. 'My tools are the computer and virtual space,' she says. The visual imagery in her paintings derives not from reality itself, but from a virtual—or secondary—reality. For this creative artist, however, that serves merely as a springboard or a starting signal that liberates both imagination and hand. In her work, this secondary reality—or a chance motif—and the artist’s imagination most often intertwine inseparably. Images suggested by modern media are transformed into authentic visions, deeply and sensitively experienced by the painter herself."

About this artwork+

This painting by Kristina Česonytė, titled "Flower Bloom," is striking and vivid. It depicts a large, expressive flower drawn with entangled lines. The lines swirl around, creating an intricate and dynamic image of a bloom. They are mostly black, with hints of color breaking through, adding depth and vibrancy. Kristina's style here is loose and somewhat abstract. She uses scribble-like strokes that convey movement and life. A touch of blue and green at the base suggests leaves or a continuation of the stem. The artwork is spontaneous and energetic, inviting viewers to explore the emotional aspect of a blooming flower. Overall, the painting feels like a burst of energy and a celebration of nature's beauty through an abstract and modern lens.
